Akamas without a car: workable bus outings and return-trip limits

Current verified snapshot — checked 2 October 2026

The operator’s timetables support visits to Baths of Aphrodite and several Akamas villages. The suggestions below are planning examples inferred from those timetables, not tested journeys or guaranteed connections.

This is a published-source check, not physical Love Akamas field verification.

What we currently know

1. Polis → Baths of Aphrodite: the most flexible starting option

Use 622, which serves Prodromi and Latchi. Its published timetable offers daily services and a final departure from the Baths at 18:30. A grotto visit is a different commitment from a long trail: plan your return before choosing a walk. The timetable has a midday gap, so consult the full bus topic rather than assuming a bus every hour.

2. Polis → Neo Chorio: a short village visit

623 has only two departures each way on weekdays and Saturdays. The final published village return is 12:40 Mon–Fri / 12:50 Saturday, with no Sunday timetable. This makes it a morning visit rather than an unrestricted full-day outing. Do not add a Smigies walk without separately verifying the approach and time to return.

3. Polis → Laona villages → Coral Bay

648 serves Drouseia, Ineia, Arodes, Kathikas and Peyia between Polis and Coral Bay, with a daily timetable. A village stop is possible in principle, but intermediate times and your exact stop must come from the live route map/operator. Do not use the endpoint departure time as your village pickup time.

4. Paphos → Polis → north coast

645 connects Paphos Karavela and Polis; 622 continues towards Latchi and the Baths. These are separate services. Allow a transfer margin; there is no evidence here of a protected connection or through ticket. Paphos Harbour is not the named 645 endpoint.

Limits: these routes do not establish a bus to Lara, Blue Lagoon or an Avakas entrance. A map may suggest a walk from a bus stop, but its distance, traffic exposure and surface need checking before recommending it.

Checked 2 October 2026:

What remains uncertain / needs field checking

No ride, transfer, intermediate stop or walking approach has been field checked. Museum opening or a meal booking may determine whether an outing works. Recheck the date, day type, return stop, live departures and essential destination opening before setting off; keep an alternative way back.

Add newer first-hand evidence

If you try one, give the date, buses/stops used, actual transfer time and walking connection. Report which facilities you found open. A successful trip can become a tested itinerary once its evidence is recorded.
